As the name suggests, the SoundSport in-ear headphones are meant to be used especially during heavy workouts. The main problem is that ordinary headphones suffer during a workout is sweat. It can enter the ear buds and seep on to the drivers which can destroy them rendering the entire thing useless. As disgusting as it sounds, it is a fact that most of the workout freaks experience. Not to forget, the sweat that sticks to the body causing the headphones to stink. Fortunately, we do not have to compromise build quality over sound quality because the Bose Soundsport in-ear headphones are durable, rugged and weather proof.

Bose SoundSport Construction and build
The first thing you will notice when you first hold these headphones in your hand is the brilliant colour. The Bose SoundSport in-ear headphones are available in three colours, Blue, Orange and Green. All three colours are bright and easily catch attention. The second thing that catches our eyes is the shark fin shaped ear phone bud. Since this shark fin has become quite common with Bose in-ear headphones, it is nothing new to talk about.
As always, Bose has provided you with snug fitting earphone tips. The earbuds sit on the ear and the covers enter the ear canal a little, directing the audio. However they do not go deep into the ear canal like the Bose SoundTrue Ultra earphones. Due to this design, the SoundSport does not provide much in the way of noise isolation. Since, these headphones are intended to be used during workouts, the ear tips are made to stay fit in the ear rather than coming loose. Being a tight fit in the ear during a heavy workout, it is obvious that the sweat would enter the earphone buds and reach the drivers. However, the drivers are coated with hydrophobic fabric. The material properties are transparent to sound but also repel any fluid thus keeping your earphones safe.
Bose also provides additional ear tips with different sizes to suit different users. Make sure that you use a proper sized ear tipsto prevent the earbuds falling out once you start your workout. The cable has a coloured stripe twisting along its entire length and also has an inline microphone and control button to answer calls. There is an iOS version with additional button to change tracks and volume levels which is absent in the Android version. Make sure you purchase the appropriate version by ensuring which kind of phone/device you own.
Along with the earphones you also get a carry case which is circular in shape, much better looking as compared to the one that comes with SoundTrue in-ear headphones. The carry case has a matching colour to your headphones and can be opened using the zip that goes all around the circumference.
Sound Quality and performance
With the SoundSport and SoundTrue in-ear headphones, they both use identical internal drivers making the sound performance similar. You can find more about the sound quality in the SoundTrue in-ear headphones review.
The Bose SoundSport earbuds are the only real sports option from the company. They have excellent sports features and will stay put throughout heavy workouts. They are the least expensive option in the Bose line-up. However all Bose products are on the expensive side. They do not provide strong noise isolation, but many sports users will not require that, as it can be a safety issue. Overall they are a great product that provides comfort and a fairly balanced sound. For non sports applications, the Soundtrue Ultra review will help you make your mind up.
