Jlab Audio announce completely wireless Epic Air earbuds for preorder

JLab Audio has announced a pair of completely wireless earbuds by the name “Epic Air” which are now open for pre-order. The company aims at entering the “true wireless” market with their new product which will start shipping out in February 2017.

Epic Air Earbuds to compete with Apple AirPods

The whole “completely wireless earbuds” idea became mainstream when Apple removed the 3.5mm jack from the latest iPhone 7. Instead, they marketed their “completely wireless” AirPods as an alternative. The design has no consideration for different ear hole sizes and the possible ways they could be used. It resulted the inevitable, utter failure for Apple AirPods usability. For a while, we all thought that going “true wireless” would not be the greatest of ideas. Some even mocked the AirPods by creating products like these. Now, on the other hand, we have a ray of hope that going “completely wireless” is not such a bad idea after all. All that was required was a thoughtful design to eliminate the obvious flaws; JLab Audio seems to have gotten it all right with their new Epic Air earbuds.

Jlab Audio Epic Air Earbuds come with an ear clip that is intended to prevent the buds from falling, a problem that rendered the Airpods useless. Not only does the ear clip offer support but it also houses the Bluetooth antenna.

“Our Bluetooth connectivity design is so impressive, we patented it”.

Waterproof design for heavy workouts

The Jlab Audio Epic Air Earbuds has an IPX5 rated water proof body design. The IPX5 rating will ensure no sweat can enter inside and damage the electronics. It also means that you can even rinse the buds under tap water. The IPX5 waterproofing makes the Epic Air a suitable choice of wireless earbuds for working out. JLab Audio have also told us that testing for IPX6 is under way.

Since there is absolutely no cable running anywhere, our beloved in-line controls have been moved elsewhere. The touch sensitive buttons on the left ear bud have Play/Pause while you can change your track by tapping buttons on the right bud.

Longer battery life ensures an uninterrupted workout

A 6 hour long battery life is long enough to last for a couple of days depending on your use. What happens when the battery runs out? Do you plug two USB cables into each bud? No!

If you look carefully, you will see the sturdy little case that came with the package. The reason it is special is because of the massive 2000mAh built-in battery which comes in handy while you are travelling. Simply by placing the buds inside the case, they will start charging. Moreover, there is a USB cable to charge the case when you find a power socket. Jlab Audio is going to earn a lot of customers with this unique design and loads of clever features coming with the Epic Air Earbuds. Comparatively, the Epic Air is what Apple Air Pods were meant to be.

The Jlab Audio Epic Air Earbuds are available for pre-order for a price tag of $149.99 directly from their official website.
