Music streaming and amp by Sonos

Sonos offers a high powered amplifier for seamless hi-fi streaming of music through its speakers. It is an all in one stereo system which plays music from almost each and every cloud music service available. The Sonos Connect:Amp is functional with the Sonos or any other speakers and requires a smart phone, tablet or a personal computer for running the Sonos app. The amplifier needs a wiring connection or the Sonos Bridge if you want to use it separately without the speakers.

Connect:Amp  is 3.5” by 7.3” by 8.15” making it bigger in size than most of the amplifiers available for audio streaming. It has a modern design available in the combination of white and silver. The curved edges and matt finish are Sonos trademark design features integrated in the Connect:Amp. The controls on the amp are minimalist with only the mute and volume control buttons. The rest is all controlled via the Sonos app which hosts digital audio from all major music apps. However this means that you cannot skip tracks directly through the device.

The Sonos Connect:Amp is a built-in 55 watts per channel amplifier which delivers dynamic stereo sound. It has a 2-port Ethernet switch for Internet connectivity and an auto detecting RCA analogue line-in connection which allows the amplifier to adjust the out to send low frequencies to the subwoofer and high ones to the speakers. The Connect:Amp also features an alarm system so that you can wake up to your favourite music or rich sounds playing evenly in your room. Priced at £399 this amplifier from Sonos has accurate controls, easy setup, rich hi-fi sound production and a few minor drawbacks like weak midrange and some of them might run hot.

As soon as you hit multi - zone / whole house, non apple centric, Sonos is appreciably better and uniquely better usability.

Order one, NOW! Amazing sound quality, and like all sonos products, it is easy as 123 to set up. I have mine powering my outdoor Speakers!

Whilst Sonos can be a good system - if you start to get problems they are tough to solve. I have 6 zone players and now they keep losing music and sonos have been unable to find a solution.

It works anywhere you’ve ever dreamed of having music — the bedroom, the bathroom or even the backyard. All you have to do is plug it in, connect your choice of speakers and you’ve got a room filled with music.
