best acoustic guitar Yamaha CPX1200II

Yamaha CPX1200II is one of the Best Acoustic Guitars

Great Tone, Great Looks – High priced but well worth the title ‘best acoustic guitar’

Yamaha CPX1200II is one of those choices that extremely passionate and specific musicians make. Priced at approximately £1,010, this is a very high end electro acoustic, but definitely amongst the best acoustic guitars. Finding users and reviews for this product is very rare so we always recommend to go to the nearest shop and try it out yourself as well.

Despite being designed as an electro acoustic originally, it competes with the best acoustic guitars in the market. The Yamaha CPX1200II is quite comparable to its companion Yamaha model the APX1200II. Probably the only difference is the more traditional look and acoustic body of the CPX1200II. Its full solid body resonance gives the sound a good acoustic feel.  Equipped with pickup and SRT (Studio Response Technology) preamp system newly developed to give the output sound a rich feel in live ‘open air’ playing as well as studio recording, the CPX1200II is definitely CPX series’ Top Model. A combination of SRT pickup was introduced and the body was produced on a single plate to work up the magic of sound dynamics. The SRT pickup uses imaging technology, it’s a system that appears to have taken Yamaha 2 years to come up.

The CPX1200II is available in Vintage Sunburst and gloss finish on Translucent Black – might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for most musicians (including me!), this is just classy! Made from solid Rosewood and Mahogany wood binding, this, mini jumbo electro acoustic, a very durable guitar with brilliant dynamics. The large ebony tuners, elegant headstock and the diamond shape inlays on that sleek mahogany fretboard, just adds up to the beauty of this guitar.

The sound of studio quality of CPX1200II is highly regarded as a professional model amongst all Yamaha electro acoustic guitars. It has a versatile sound with warm tone. It offers a good amount of sustain and is capable of being amplified to a good limit without ruining the sound quality. With such amazing sound, amazing body, classy looks, versatility both for live players and studio musicians – this is an eye candy that speaks its own worth! A high standard guitar with extreme craftsmanship, it has it all.

sent away for this on a hunch ,,,was never more satisfied, the plugged in sound is very organic like there is an expensive mic placed in front of the soundhole.the craftsmanship is also excellent ,for years i never even thought about yamaha guitars ,i’m a believer now.

Very nice!!! Yamaha has done well to come up with a fresh upgrade of the CPX model with a full solid version and upgraded classy look for those who are suckers for looks.

As for the SRT pickup system, it is also very good. Good quality pickup system and I believe the mic modelling is pretty unique compared to other acoustic pickup out there in the Market.

I bought one in November ’10 and have taken any and every opportunity to bang on about it here. Beautifully made with first class materials including gorgeous paduak and MOP inlay and with the market leading SRT pick/preamp system it’s an absolute bargain, and easily competes with US made guitars costing at least twice the price.

High quality build, Pleasant mellow acoustic sound, Quality output when amplified, Great looks
Nothing that we came across. The price might be a bit high for some but, for such a marvel, it’s well worth it.

    1. Great stuff Tim, I would say it’s a guitar that’s difficult to obtain because not many retailers sell it, where did you get it from?
