AC/DC Rock or Bust Tour Drummer Replacement

by Salil Tembe2015/03/16

This year’s Grammy Awards ceremony saw a live performance from AC/DC band and it seems that everyone present there enjoyed it. The song played on stage was the title song from their latest album Rock or Bust that was released last year.

AC/DC has won only a single Grammy Award in their lifetime back in the year of 2010 for the song War Machine from their Black Ice album.

Rock or Bust is the first album since Malcolm Young had to leave the band due to serious medical condition. He was replaced by his nephew Stevie Young.

There has been a lot going on inside AC/DC for quite sometime. We also came to know about the new drummer Chris Slade who was also present on stage at the Grammy Awards performance. The reason for replacing the long time drummer Phil Rudd is because of the legal proceedings against him. Phil was arrested lately for possession of marijuana, meth and also for threatening someone to kill someone in the band’s employ. He was estranged by the band immediately, although a month later he said that he will be joining the band soon enough no matter who likes it or not. These are his words:

“I’m going back to work with AC/DC, and I don’t care who likes it and who doesn’t…”

Whatever he has to say, it has become officially clear that Chris Slade will also be performing for the entire AC/DC North American tour that is going to start on August 22 this year. Chris Slade’s facebook page received tremendous support from the fans and in reply Chris said,

“I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support I have been shown personally, on the Facebook page and other social media, not one comment has gone unread and it has been very humbling, Thanks so much. We apologise for the secrecy, please understand this was for all the right reasons.”

For those who are long time fans of AC/DC will know that it is not the first time that Chris Slade has played for the band. Back in 1991 Donington Concert, Chris was the band’s drummer and he was easily noticed because of his “fast” drumming skills.
