Back in December there was an announcement on the official website of Slipknot that drummer Joey Jordison had quit the band. It was indeed a shocking news for all the Slipknot fans and there were discussions about who will be the drummer that would replace Joey. The announcement made by Slipknot was as follows:
To our Maggots and fans around the world,
It is with great pain but quiet respect, that for personal reasons Joey Jordison and Slipknot are parting ways. We all wish Joey the best in whatever his future holds. We understand that many of you will want to know how and why this has come to be, and we will do our best to respond to these questions in the near future. It is our love for all of you, as well as for the music we create, that spurs us to continue on and move forward with our plans for releasing new material in the next year. We hope that all of you will come to understand this, and we appreciate your continued support while we plan the next phase of the future of Slipknot.
Joey Jordison was the drummer in the band for almost 18 years and it would be quite surprising that he would quit a band to which he dedicated a lot of his time and skill! After the announcement about Joey, Corey Taylor was interviewed and he confirmed that Slipknot and Joey have become parted. He also mentioned about lot of stuff happening behind the scene which remains out of the public eye and reasons for the parting. Later in that interview he said that Slipknot is working hard to bring out new music for its fans.
After all this happened, Joey posted the true news by himself for everyone.
The post made everything clear although we still do not know what exactly went down between Slipknot and Joey. It is good to know that Joey Jordison did not quit the band!
