Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are set to release a collaborative album that celebrates their love story.
The 32-year-old singer and actress, Selena Gomez, and her fiancé, 36-year-old music producer and songwriter Benny Blanco, have announced the release of their joint album. According to “Variety,” the album, titled I Said I Love You First, will be available on March 21.
A Glimpse Into Their Relationship
Gomez, who first gained fame through Wizards of Waverly Place, made her relationship with Blanco public in December 2023. About a year later, the couple announced their engagement. Now, they are giving fans an intimate look into their love story through music. The album is said to chronicle their journey—from their lives before they met to falling in love and looking toward the future.
Fans have already gotten a preview of what to expect. One of the songs on the album, Scared of Loving You, was co-written by Gomez, Blanco, and 27-year-old musician Finneas. The emotional ballad features lyrics that express deep vulnerability:
“Because I’m not afraid to love you, I’m just afraid of losing you. I’m not afraid of anyone, or of dying young. Or of you finding someone new. Because how could they ever love you as much as I do?”
To accompany the release, Gomez shared a video on Instagram showing her and Blanco enjoying a date at an amusement park. A lyric video for the song also features the couple holding hands while lying in bed. Blanco shared additional romantic clips on his own Instagram, writing, “I can’t believe I get to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Gomez’s Career and Musical Comeback
In recent years, Gomez has been more focused on acting, recently promoting her role in the film Emilia Pérez, where she plays the character Jessi Del Monte. Her last studio album, Rare, was released in 2020, making this upcoming album a much-anticipated musical return.
With I Said I Love You First, Gomez and Blanco are not only offering fans new music but also sharing the intimate moments of their love story through their artistry.
